Ideal Archive Sources

The ideal archive needs access to as many data source types as possible. Continuous access to all this data may be impossible, so as a compromise a separate 'index' of data can be made readily available that provides access to metadata, summaries and thumbnails of the raw data.

Data (or files) that already managed in an existing archive should be treated differently than files which are not.
